What the buck is a Buck score?
If you don’t know what a Buck score is, and therefore what yours is…start by taking our survey with the Buck Now! web app.
At the end you’ll be provided with your Buck score:
What is the Buck score?
Your score is based on how well you are employing the three steps we use when we Buck the Budget. Points earned indicate that you are doing some things right. Examples of actions which could earn you points include:
- Contributing to a Health Savings Account
- Keeping your living costs below 50% of your monthly cash flows
- Having at least 5% available for spending
Total points available are specific to your circumstances; for instance you only have points to win (or lose) related to your 401(k) contributions if you have a plan available to contribute to in the first place.
What does my Buck score mean?
A score of 10 would demonstrate mastery over your money.
A score above zero reveals that you are doing some things right and are on your way to gaining control of your finances. Employ our recommendations to further grow your score and have more control.
If you’ve scored a zero, then you’ve come to the right place and we can help!
How do I improve my Buck score?
Further employ the three steps of Buck the Budget to progress your score closer to 10.
